Grandparents and grandchildren have no rights when parents are repeat offenders of crime or drug offenses and /or incarcerated. The focus on drug and criminal rehabilitation for offenders is not with consideration of the best interest of children. Grandparents should be the first resource for placement and care of grandchildren to allow for safety, stability and love to meet their needs. Why do criminals have rights and grandparents and children do not?

In November 2012 I was kidnapped and assaulted by my ex boyfriend. In July of 2014 we had the trial. The second day of trial he tried to commit suicide and it was rescheduled for the next week, trial ended three days before my wedding. September of 2014 he was sentenced to 24 years in prison

I was raped in 2018, and my MLE results still haven’t come back. The man that raped me went on to commit attempted 1st degree murder almost exactly a year later. If the right thing would’ve been done swiftly, as I reported immediately, another victim would’ve been spared a huge amount of trauma.
